Diary Update from Andy - 21st
November 2007
Hi y'all,
greetings from Texas. Thought you might like a short
update on what's been happening lately.
For those
of you that don't know, we have just completed a three
week tour that took us to Russia, the Ukraine, Germany
and finally the good old UK. Pretty exhausting I can
tell you, especially the Russian part. Man! That place
is BIG, and that's coming from a guy who lives in Texas.
We had several 20+ hour journeys by train with little
else to do but drink, and all I can say is that I will
never complain about British trains again. Believe me,
when it comes to drinking, those Russians are professionals,
they even make Pete look like a beginner and that's
hard to do. Many thanks to Spika Concerts and their
tour manager Mr. Peter Smirnov (no joke!) for taking
such good care of us. Thanks also to our crew.... Tonio,
Martin, Dave, Oscar and Chris who once again performed
above and beyond the call of duty. And of course thanks
to the fullumptious ginger Kate. It just wasn't the
same in Russia without you! Maybe next time....
Also, the suprise of the tour award goes to Nom and
Liz, who showed up at the show in Moscow. Nice one guys!
As I said earlier, the tour ended up in the UK. Butlins
at Minehead to be precise - talk about culture shock!
For all of you who were at 'Hard Rock Hell' thanks for
making us so welcome. It was great to see so many familiar
faces both out front and backstage too. I really enjoyed
catching up with the guys from Saxon and Tesla. It was
the perfect finish to the tour.
We now get to enjoy some well-earned rest. Rumour has
it that we won't tour again until April 2008 but you
never know, so watch this space. Finally, I would like
to take this opportunity to wish you all a very safe
and happy holiday season. Thank you for all your support
this year and I look forward to seeing you all very
soon. Cheers!

SEPTEMBER
2007
Thanks
to everyone who came out to the recent shows in Germany,
Belgium and the UK.
Special mention must go to the crowd at Chepstow Castle
Festival
who not only battled through torrential rain to get
there, but waded knee-deep through mud
to the beer tent so determinedly - some of you even
managed to fall face-first into the quagmire
and get back up again without spilling a drop. We salute
you!
But we could see that many of you weren't so lucky at
holding on to your beer glasses
so... to you we dedicate Lettin' Go!
We'll shortly be adding some more shows to the festivals
already posted on the Tour page
so check the site regularly for updates. See ya soon!
Nice
one Andy - get ready for lots of 'leg' jokes when we
see you in May!
Still, makes a change from the old days....

a UFO stage technician HERE
NEWSFLASH
- MONDAY 12th FEBRUARY 2007
We
are very sorry to announce that last Wednesday ANDY
PARKER broke his ankle by slipping on a wet floor.
After two hospital appointments Andy had surgery today
and now has a plate and some screws in his ankle.
Needless to say, he won't be ready to play the UFO tour
in March. We are all very upset about this.
After much discussion between Andy and the other bandmembers
the decision was taken
to go ahead with the tour and play the March dates with
a replacement drummer.
Our good friend Simon Wright (Dio, ex AC/DC) was kind
enough to step in immediately - thanks mate!
As many of you will know, Simon toured with UFO on the
Walk On Water tour (no pun intended!)
and we're sure you'll join with us in thanking Simon
for keeping the tour on schedule
and in wishing Andy a speedy and comfortable recovery.
Get well soon, Mr. Parker!
A
Tour Update From Andy - December 2006
Hi
y'all
I'm now back home in Texas where it is a glorious 70 degrees
and sunny. To all you poor blighters freezing your butts
off back in Europe, you have my sympathy. I certainly
don't mean to rub your noses in it, but as I spent a good
half of the tour battling the "Pete Way Toxic Flu",
it feels good to be somewhere warm again!
Anyway I'm well on the mend and wanted to take this opportunity
to tell you all just how much I enjoyed the tour. As most
of you know I haven't toured with UFO (apart from some
festivals during the summer) since 1993, and I haven't
toured the UK with them since 1983, so this was really
special.
First off I have to tell you that it feels absolutely
fantastic to be back in the band again. I truly believe
we are sounding better than ever, and judging by the receptions
we've been getting, it would appear that you agree. I've
said it before and I'll say it again "UFO fans are
the best fans in the world." YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
I want to thank you all for making the tour so successful.
I know some of you traveled great distances to see us
and we really appreciate the effort. It was wonderful
to see so many familiar faces in the audience, and after
the shows. I feel like I have grown up with many of you.
It was also great to see so many of your kids at the shows.
It's like a whole new generation of UFO fans. It totally
blows me away!
Thank you for all your positive comments in the guest
book. Keep them coming, and thank you ALL for making me
feel so welcome in my return. To those of you who have
been asking about Chapman era material in the set, all
I can say is don't give up hope, you may still get your
wish. There are plans for us to tour Russia, Scandinavia,
North Germany and hopefully Scotland in March 2007 so
I hope to see some of you then.
All
that remains is for me to thank you once again from all
us and to wish you all a very happy and healthy Christmas.
See you in the New Year.
